- Jul 24: Independent podcast apps are not growing as a category, says Dustin Bluck, the developer of Castro. He says the growth of podcasting has occurred almost entirely on platforms like YouTube, and independent podcast apps have just stood still. He's concerned that some are interfering with creator content as a way to differentiate themselves, and asks how to move the industry forward.
- Mar 16: A new experimental podcast app from the makers of Castro, Pod Seek - available for iOS - is designed to be focused on discovery and recommendations. It uses trailers as well as other Podcasting 2.0 tags including funding, ‘person' and transcript tags.
- Feb 4: Two-Faced: John of God is the first Spanish-language podcast from Exactly Right and Adonde Media. Hosted by award-winning journalist Martina Castro, this investigative podcast examines the rise and fall of João Teixeira de Faria - the Brazilian spiritual healer known globally as John of God. It examines the reach of global faith healing movements, the power of belief and just how far we will go before we question it all. - Jan 28: The Castro podcast app has launched listening stats. Castro's Dustin Black says: "You can see how much you listened in any given day, week, month, or year, and you can drill down and see the exact episodes you were listening to at an exact time. It's really cool!"
- Dec 29, 2025: The podcast app Castro has released Castro Wrapped, featuring stats about your year using the app, and an image to share with friends.
