The Daily turns into a radio show on Monday. Today we learnt which stations will take the show; the program is presented, like the podcast, by Michael Barbaro. Stations in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco are among the initial sixteen to take it, and it’ll air after 4pm; it won’t air in New York City for now. (By comparison, All Things Considered debuted on 90 stations and is now carried on around 800; APM programs are broadcast on over a thousand stations).

  • Audio search platform Audioburst, which indexes audio including podcasts, has done a deal to put their technology into Samsung connected devices, starting with smart TVs. Samsung Ventures have also invested in the company.

  • HotPod 156 is out. Nick discovers more about Stitcher Premium, and highlights the daily news podcast trend.

  • AdsWizz has done a deal with French podcaster NextRegie, allowing them to sell programmatic ads. NextRegie looks after a number of large media brand podcasts, including RMC which alone has “15m monthly listens”. The company also announced a partnership with EmpireStreaming, a podcast host, which will allow their “small to mid-size podcast publishers” to offer dynamic ad insertion.

  • Kurt Laufer writes an article disagreeing with the AdExchanger story we linked to on Mar 23, particularly the lack of stats. “I call BS”, he says, highlighting the lean-in experience.

  • The reviews for Alex Inc are in - it’s an ABC TV comedy that we mentioned on Jan 10, all about podcasting. One word from each review: NewsAU: “great”; USA Today: "painful“; Newsday: ”busy”; Cinemablend: "boring". Oh.
