The Chaser finds a new home at NOVA Entertainment

Melbourne VIC, Australia—The Chaser has found a new home at NOVA Entertainment with the launch of The Chaser Report podcast, a half-hour topical, comedy current affairs show, from Friday 17 April.

In these uncertain times, it’s hard to know who you can trust to get reliable, up-to-date information - The Chaser Report makes it even harder.

The Chaser Report is a short, sharp look at the week’s news, showbiz and sport (or at least what’s left of it). Each episode includes medically-dubious (and highly irresponsible) advice on how to survive the coronavirus lockdown purely through the consumption of alcohol.

Charles Firth said, “Demand for reliable, trustworthy information is soaring during the coronavirus pandemic, but we decided to launch The Chaser Report anyway.”

The Chaser Report is the podcast you turn to when you’ve given up on trying to work out how the world works, and just want to laugh at it instead. Produced by The Chaser team and presented by Charles Firth, Andrew Hansen and Dom Knight, the podcast features appearances from the rest of the crew, including annoying anti-waste guy Craig Reucassel, Chris Taylor and Zoe Norton-Lodge, guests from across the comedy world, as well as crosses to experts around the globe.

Andrew Hansen said, “We’re living in crazy times. That’s why we’re bringing back a weekly show where we can just go to war on everything that’s happening.”

The Chaser was founded in 1999 as an independent satirical newspaper by editors Charles Firth, Craig Reucassel, Julian Morrow and Dominic Knight (and later joined by the far more talented Andrew Hansen, Chas Licciardello and Chris Taylor). The Chaser team has since gone on to weasel their way into every corner of Australian media, including print, online, radio, television and Christmas crackers. Best known for their wildly popular ABC TV series’, including ‘CNNNN’ and the ‘War on Everything’, and their much less popular ABC TV series including ‘Election Desk’, the team have produced over 15 TV and radio shows, losing a host of comedy awards and lawsuits in the process.

Kane Reiken, NOVA Entertainment’s Digital Commercial Director said, “From chasing down Politicians to their headline breaking stunts, we have been super fans of The Chaser for years and are pumped to be working alongside them in developing unique brand integration and sponsorship opportunities for their new podcast series.”

NOVA Entertainment and Acast, the fastest-growing global on-demand audio platform, formed a strategic partnership in 2017 to become the biggest podcast offering in the Australian market.

The Chaser Report will be available at Novafm.com.au, Acast or wherever you get your podcasts, from Friday 17 April, with a new episode released every Friday.
