A society & culture podcast from Katie Semro
It’s a crazy moment we are living in with COVID-19 changing all our lives in way we never could have imagined. Let’s document this time by creating an archive of audio diaries from people around the world during this extraordinary time.
When this is all over, I will find somewhere for this archive to live in perpetuity so that future generations can understand what this time was like, not just from news reports, but from the words of the people who’ve lived through it.
But for now, entries from the archive will be brought together in as the Transmission Times podcast so we can share our experiences with each other, even from isolation.
If you’d like to submit an audio diary, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This podcast may use dynamic content insertion and uses a unique domain
Stats: Statistics are produced by Libsyn to help Transmission Times to understand how many downloads it is getting, or how many people are listening. Your device’s IP address and useragent is used to help calculate this figure. Libsyn is IAB v2 certified.
Dynamic content insertion: Libsyn may use limited data that they know about you - the device you’re using, the approximate location you’re in, or other data that can be derived from this, like the current weather forecast for your area - to change parts of the audio. Transmission Times may do this for advertising or for other forms of content, like news stories.
Transmission Times is able to use the above tools since its podcast host or measurement company offers this service. It doesn’t mean that this individual podcast uses them, or has access to this functionality. We use open data.
This podcast uses a unique RSS domain. This podcast is the only one that we’re aware of which uses a domain of transmissiontimes.libsyn.com for its RSS feed. Domains are always visible to anyone who can see your internet traffic - your internet service provider, employer or even your government - even when you use HTTPS connections. If your podcast app uses the RSS feed directly, like Apple Podcasts, then you can be tracked as a listener to this podcast every time your phone checks for a new episode.
Here’s more about insecure links and unique domains.
Information for podcasters
This podcast’s audio is not on an IPv6-enabled domain. This isn’t an issue for now, but might be in future. (We tested the initial domain of traffic.libsyn.com, which may be an analytics prefix.)
This podcast appears to be missing from Stitcher, iVoox, and Luminary. We list all the podcast directories to be in.
