How accurate are the transcripts?
For the DIY tier, the transcripts are above 90% accurate on average. These are the numbers reported by Assembly.ai, our transcription provider.
For the Concierge tier, our team listens to your episode and manually edits your transcripts to ensure 99% accuracy.
Do you support audio and video podcasts?
We support audio and video podcasts and all popular formats. Send us a support request if you use an exotic file format and want us to convert it before uploading.
What export formats do you support for transcripts?
We currently support exporting documents (as .md, .pdf and .docx) and subtitles (as .vtt and .srt). Send us a support request if you want any other format.

How long does it take to receive a transcript after I request one?
The DIY tier takes about 20% of the duration of the file. For example, transcribing 30 minutes of audio takes about 6 minutes.
For the Concierge tier, we will send you your transcript within 1 business day.
Do my unused hours roll over to the next month?
Any extra hours you purchase will roll over until used. For instance, if you use 2h 30min of transcription in one month, the remaining 30min will carry over to subsequent months and will only be utilized once you exhaust the included 2h of transcription. Note that the included 2h does not roll over.
Do I own the transcripts and clips I create with Fanfare?
Yes. As per our Terms of Service, you keep the ownership of all the generated content (i.e., clips, transcripts, and websites). You grant us a license to display the transcripts because otherwise, we wouldn't be able to provide you with a public website.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Our payment processor, Stripe, ensures your payment information is securely stored and processed. We do not directly handle or store your payment information.

Hi, I'm Basil, and Fanfare is my brainchild, born in January 2022.
I'm a Swiss computer scientist. My work includes leading data-analytics teams for TV streaming providers and consulting for large TV broadcasters on integrating AI into their metadata processes. I've also contributed to a multi-year research project under Horizon 2020, focusing on novel methods for TV broadcasters to repurpose and organize their content.
After moving to New York City in 2020, and driven by a desire for change, I shifted my focus towards supporting independent content creators. At the core of Fanfare's philosophy is the use of the Internet as a tool to democratize knowledge.
