Acast gets a further $19.5m in funding (it's already had $13m) to help it expand. The money comes from Swedish investors, and the FT reports that this makes over $70m sunk into podcasting in recent weeks. "The company claims 56 million listens per month — a “listen” is defined as an audio segment that’s listened to for at least 60 seconds."
PRX plans more Podcast Garages, their small hire-by-the-hour podcast studios and incubation spaces.
