Globally respected music journalist launches new podcast, The Money Trench

The Money Trench – The Music Industry Podcast with Mark Sutherland (‘TMT’) is a brand new podcast curated by industry veterans, Mark Sutherland and exec producer Mike Walsh. Sponsored by PPL, TMT is set to hit streaming platforms on Monday 24th June.

Conceived as a weekly deep dive into the latest music industry news and views, The Money Trench - named after the infamous Hunter S. Thompson misquote about the music business - will bring listeners compelling insights from the forefront of the global music industry every Monday.

Each episode will discuss and debate the hot topics of the week and delve into the experiences of renowned artists and influential music business leaders who will share their thoughts on the industry of now and the future. The inaugural episode will feature Lorna Clarke, BBC Director of Music – diving into her storied career and pulling the curtain back on what it is like to be running the biggest music and media event of the year – the BBC at Glastonbury.

A strong line-up of music industry experts are confirmed for future episodes, including Ferdy Unger-Hamilton (Promised Land Music, ex Columbia, Polydor, Virgin), Tara Richardson (T Time Management, ex Q-Prime), PR guru Alan Edwards (Outside Organisation – Prince, David Bowie, Spice Girls), Darcus Beese OBE (Darco Recordings/Warner Music UK, ex Island Records), Toby L (co-founder, Transgressive) and team, Annabella Coldrick (CEO of the MMF), Ben Wynter (Power Up, AIM), and Caroline Elleray & Mark Gale (Second Songs, ex Universal Music Publishing).

Mark Sutherland, a well-known music journalist and broadcaster with more than three decades of experience, will bring his expertise from writing for and editing acclaimed publications such as Billboard, Music Business Worldwide, Music Week, NME, Rolling Stone, and Variety, as well as his contributions to BBC Radio 6 Music.

Exec Producer, Mike Walsh is former Head of Music for XFM/Radio X and boasts a diverse career that spans major labels, artist management, tech and radio. Having started out more than 30 years ago at the iconic Parlophone label, he is now an artist manager, ERA board member and a partner in music retailer, Serenade.
