The International Women’s Podcast Awards is set to make its return this year on Wednesday, June 19th 2024. This event, now in its 4th year, will take place at the IET London: Savoy Place with an accompanying global livestream, bringing together podcasters, audio professionals, and podcast enthusiasts to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women and people of diverse genders in podcasting.

The International Women’s Podcast Awards recognises and honours the outstanding contributions made by a wide range of folks in the podcasting sector, from those who are self-taught and producing shows solo, to those part of larger teams at established audio companies. From thought-provoking discussions to engaging storytelling, podcasts have become an influential medium, and it is essential to acknowledge the incredible range of voices and talent involved in the creation of these productions, both behind the mic and behind the scenes.

This year’s event will showcase the remarkable work and creative excellence of podcasters across multiple categories. From educational and informative shows to captivating storytelling, the International Women’s Podcast Awards will recognise the best in the business. A panel of judges consisting of podcasters, journalists, and experienced professionals will evaluate the submitted entries and select the winners across multiple categories.

“We are thrilled to announce the date and venue for this year’s International Women’s Podcast Awards,” said Naomi Mellor, the founder of the awards. “Podcasting is a powerful medium that provides a platform for people to tell their story, showcase their work, and have their voice heard. Our goal with these awards remains to raise the voices of women and people of diverse genders in podcasting, to bring together the podcasting community, and to celebrate the exceptional work being done worldwide. We encourage all podcasters to submit their entries and be a part of this event. The IWPA Bursary will also once again be open, offering complimentary entries and tickets to anyone, worldwide.”

Laura Norton, IET Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Everybody Media to IET London: Savoy Place for the International Women’s Podcast Awards 2024. This female-led organisation supporting women and people of diverse genders is very much aligned to our goal of promoting and raising awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion across all sectors. It’s great to see inspiring events like this taking place in our fantastic venue, amplifying and recognising under-represented voices in the media and audio content creation space.”

The IET London: Savoy Place, renowned for its architectural beauty and state-of-the-art technical facilities, will provide an exquisite backdrop for this year’s awards ceremony. With its strong commitment to accessibility, and exceptional location in the heart of the city overlooking the River Thames, this historic venue will offer a memorable experience for all attendees.

The International Women’s Podcast Awards is open to podcasts from across the world, with a category introduced in 2023 for podcasts produced in languages other than English. Entries for the awards will open on Monday 29th February, and further details regarding the entry process, categories, and eligibility criteria will be available on the website.
