The Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) is excited to announce the launch of its 2024 Rate Guide Campaign. This initiative seeks to update and expand the comprehensive Rate Guides, a vital resource for audio producers, editors, sound designers, engineers, mixers, fact-checkers and entrepreneurs in the audio industry.

As the media landscape evolves, so does the need for up-to-date information on fair compensation. AIR’s Rate Guides have long been a trusted source for industry standards, providing transparency and promoting equitable pay. With this new campaign, AIR aims to collect current compensation data from audio professionals to reflect the latest trends and best practices.

Campaign Highlights:

  1. Data Collection: AIR is gathering compensation data from audio professionals who price their work by the hour, day, or project, including salaried positions. Participants are encouraged to submit their rates through dedicated forms on AIR’s website. The submission process allows multiple entries to accommodate different types of work and varying rates.
  2. Anonymous Participation: Contributors can remain anonymous, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. They can also opt-in for follow-up questions to provide more detailed insights.
  3. Continuous Submissions: The forms will remain open indefinitely; however, only data collected until August 7, 2024, will be included in the 2024 Rate Guide update.
  4. Comprehensive Insights: The updated Rate Guide will include findings from this survey and other research efforts, offering a holistic view of the current compensation landscape.
